Children of the Lamp; The Akhenaten Adventure is a fantasy book about two 12-year-old twins named Philippa and John. The story is set in present tence, with 3rd person as the speaker. It starts off with their wisdom teeth growing and then they start to grant wishes without knowing, all signs of becoming a Djinn. Djinn, are people who look and behave just like humans, but they have a fire spirit living inside them. John and Philippa had no idea of what a Djinn might be, which is why their uncle, Nimrod, comes to their dreams as they are having their surgery for getting out their wisdom teeth, he tells them to ask their parents if the twins could come and visit him in England.

When they ask they get a surprising yes from their parents about going from New York to England, that’s where it all begins. Nimrod, John and Philippa go through exciting adventures as they travel to Cario, Egypt.

This book is breath taking and lively; a true page turner. Philippa and John are two interesting characters who learn a lot about themselves and their powers, they get to met many other characters, such as Groanin a one-armed butler who works for Nimrod, their uncle.

The idea of Djinn actually exciting is fascinating, it’s amazing how well thought through the Djinn world is planed and the history behind it, it is almost believable, as the characters all have a different believable personality.

On a scale from 1- 10 I would give it an 8 because it is a little bit slow in the beginning, but when the action starts it gets interesting.  In the end of the book it shows an interview with the author, I think that was a very good idea it tells you a little bit about the reasons why the author wrote the book. I would suggest this book for kids from the age 11 to 15.

I like your blog because it explains the book really nicely and I like the way you rated the book.
But you should make a more exciting voice in your writing and you should make it more engaging.
Over all I liked your blog a lot.
